Five wonderful places to swim in nature

Five wonderful places to swim in nature

The pools slowly open up again. Unfortunately you often have to make reservations and facilities such as toilets are not open. And with nice weather you would rather go outside? I picked the best spots for you.

Outdoor swimming in nature.

Noord Aa playing pond (Zoetermeer)

Swimming with children is very nice here because it stays shallow for a long time. Furthermore, there is a lovely sandy beach where you can lay down your towel. The part where you are allowed to swim is marked off from the rest, so you can be sure you can swim safely.

Also, in addition to sunbathing lawns, this area also has sections with permanent barbecue areas. Very nice if you want to make a day of it. Besides swimming you can also practice different water sports here. And there are restaurants to satisfy your hunger.

Plenty to do and experience.

Recreational lake the Wed (Overveen)

A month ago I discovered this by accident. We wanted to take a nice walk and unexpectedly came across this pond. An incredibly beautiful area with plenty of room to lie down.

And the view is fantastic. It lies between the dunes, so there is nature everywhere you look. There is a section marked off where you can swim and it is still “shallow” enough. Furthermore, there are plenty of trees along the shore where you can find shade.

There is a restaurant near the parking lot, so if you get hungry you should walk back a bit. On the beach itself children can play happily. It is also good to know that there are toilet blocks available.

The Island of Maurik (Maurik)

Sand and grass. An ideal combination. Especially for people who don’t like sand getting everywhere, like my husband. The website says it is a water paradise for young and old! I also read that they regularly organize activities, so keep an eye on the website.

And you can practice various water sports. Plenty to do for young and old. The nature and the lake are already very beautiful and if you can swim… This piece of nature is really a must.

Playpond Spokeplas (Noordwolde)

In the middle of the forest is this play pond. In this pond you can not only swim, but also climb. There are several climbing devices in the water where you can have fun.

Especially for children very nice. There are also plenty of shaded areas. And you can choose to lie on the grass or in the sand.

Don’t feel like swimming or doing anything else? The forest also seems to be very nice.

Nature pool the sandpol (Veenoord)

One of the cleanest lakes they write on their website. Free entrance and free parking already sounds very nice, but if you look at the pictures’s it only becomes more beautiful. It all looks beautiful. Many volunteers make sure this is a place to enjoy and because the pond is on a natural spring, algae don’t stand a chance. Besides swimming there is a playground for the kids and a restaurant to satisfy your hunger.

But also toilets, changing rooms and a shower can be found there. A swimming pool in nature… can not be more beautiful? Keep an eye on the website, because they regularly organize fun things.
